The trading floor as a commonly known image for stock exchange
became obsolete. How will the corporation be experienced in the
future?
Approach Not having served a financial corporation of
the size of the Deutsche Börse AG before, mok to decided
to spend additional time on the initial research
phase. We engaged in deeply understanding the business.
The company had its IPO (Initial Public Offer) in early 2001.
Since then the company itself is traded at the exchange. This
increased the significance of public perception.

|
During the research we revealed the different
levels of operation, the technical background and the relation
of more than a dozen divisions. The Deutsche Börse AG transformed
itself into an international provider of electronic trading. Its
business is threefold: Build systems, implement systems and run
systems. This fuelled the companies growth and its value. Other
companies were incorporated and services are added.
mok to distilled three core themes:
1. Unity. Show the entity of the parts.
2. Clarity. Speaking with one voice.
3. Adaptability. Move and evolve.
|
|
mok to proposed a unique visual language.
The three themes guided the decisions. A powerful face was tailored.
The shape-shifting capabilities of the 'Logosphere'
correspond to the companies flexibility. The formal coherence,
however, prevents fuzziness. And the spherical
composition relates to the human world which meets the
companies international focus.
MOK TO elaborated on this project as part of the
studies at the Köln International School of Design.
