As the software shall reduce costs long-term it better makes a
good fit.
Challenge We evaluated two software packages according to
their usability and their fit to the current design process. The
results of the evaluation aimed at the executive management level
due to significant expenses involved. The report therefore needed
to be easy to grasp, a quick read and uncomplicated
to refer to.

Approach After an initial training from the software manufacturer
we used use cases to deep-dive the
applications. During the usage we established a set
of criterias to judge the software. A visually distinctive
hierarchy reflected the diverse levels of information.
This way we can support differently engaged reading modes.
Result The final reports were well received. They were
an easy read but nevertheless highlighted crucial aspects consistently.
For a more intense read the reports also offered an increased
level of details. The reports contributed
significantly to the final purchase decision.
